New Song "If It All Falls Down" with Karim

On Friday, December 3rd, I released a new song with my friend Karim called "If It All Falls Down" via Adept Records! Check it out now on Spotify or a streaming platform of your choice

When I first heard Karim's beautiful instrumental for this track, I immediately knew I wanted to jump in and collaborate with him on it, and I'm so excited for you to hear how it turned out! It was an honor to help write and record this, and to be a part of Karim's debut EP, Pieces

I'm so grateful to everyone who's supported my release this weekend, and for all the encouragement my music has received this year. In 2021, I reached more listeners than ever before, collaborated with people around the world, released with a label for the first time, and tried some new styles outside my comfort zone (and I'm glad I did!). I also started helping other musicians with marketing and PR, got the chance to do two music publicity internships, and started working as an artist manager for the first time (check out Annie Elise and her amazing music!). I'm thankful for all of these new opportunities, and excited to share more music with you next year!

New Release "Let Go" With Exence

Today, I’m excited to release a new single with Exence called “Let Go.” Listen on SpotifyApple Music, and all streaming platforms.

This was my first time co-writing and recording vocals for an EDM song and it was an amazing experience, and I’m so glad I got to collaborate with Exence on this. Although it’s a high-energy song, I surprised myself by how vulnerable some of the lyrics turned out to be, but getting to help write this song helped me “let go” of some of the things that were weighing me down. Thank you for listening, and I hope you enjoy this song as much as I enjoyed getting to work on it!

My New Single "I'm Not Sorry" and More Updates

Celebrating a Successful Release Week for "I'm Not Sorry"

In case you haven't heard, my latest single, "I'm Not Sorry," was released Friday, December 4th! It's now available to stream on SpotifyApple Music, or a streaming platform of your choice. This song was so much fun to co-write and record and I'm so excited to see it released.

Within the first week of its release, I'm Not Sorry received more streams, shares, and support than any other one of my songs yet, and I'm so grateful. It was also reviewed on Section 36 MusicYMXMoggBlog, and FV Music Blog. Thank you for making my release week a big success! I'm looking forward to sharing more music with you soon.

I have some other exciting bits news I've neglected to share this busy semester. This fall, I published a poem called "Promotion" in Rattle, and you can read it here! I also recently had the pleasure of participating in a blog series called Music Memory for the Swedish website Vakentimmar which can by found here. Check back soon for more updates!

"Lift Me Higher" Release Highlights

Lift Me Higher Receives Outstanding Reviews and Passes 2,000 Streams

The past couple weeks have been an exciting celebration of my latest release, "Lift Me Higher." I have received so many supportive and heart-warming comments from friends, family, and listeners all over the world! I'm happy to share that Lift Me Higher received over 2,000 streams on Spotify in just a couple weeks, and Together Apart also recently passed 10,000 streams! This could not have been accomplished without the help of everyone sharing this song with their friends, families, and social networks, and I couldn't be more thankful. And if you haven't listen to "Lift Me Higher" yet, what are you waiting for?

I'm also so pleased to announce that "Lift Me Higher" earned glowing reviews from Section 36 MusicMusic for the MisfitsEar to the Ground MusicHot Lunch Music, and PopMuzik! It was my first time getting featured on so many music blogs, as well as my first time being reviewed by a blog in another language (PopMuzik is a Swedish blog). I'm forever grateful to these blogs and the people who run them for generously giving their time to help my music reach new listeners, and for choosing to feature me when they receive hundreds (or even thousands) of emails and submissions every day.

Thank you so much again to everyone who has contributed to the success of this song. Knowing that my music has made even one person's day better makes it all worth it. It's going to be a busy semester at Berklee this fall (via zoom), but I plan on writing and releasing more music in the future, and I'm already excited for what comes next.

New Release: "Lift Me Higher"

It's Midnight Somewhere! "Lift Me Higher" is Out Now on all Streaming Platforms!

August 20th has finally arrived, and "Lift Me Higher" is now available to listen to on SpotifyApple Musicor a streaming platform of your choice. I'm so happy with how this version of the song turned out, and I hope you'll love it as much as I do.

I'm dedicating this release to my late Poppop, Robert Donzelli, who uplifted everyone with his laughter and always supported my music.

A lot of things influenced the making of this song. My step-sister and brother-in-law had asked me to write a love song for their wedding, and I'm so happy that they did. When I wrote "Lift Me Higher," I tried my best to draw on some of the sources of love and passion in my life. I was just beginning to reconnect with my love of songwriting after recovering from a severe injury that had made it impossible to play piano for several months. It felt so freeing to finally be able to play piano again without pain. Still, I was worried about the future and if I’d still be able to compose as much as I wanted to, but the love and support of my family and friends (and a good physical therapist) got me through it.

That experience reminded me to be patient with myself and my dreams, and that there are different ways we can still do what we love. When life gets in the way and new obstacles arise (or old ones resurface), I try to remind myself of my dad's advice: "there's no straight path to success." I hope that this song makes you think of the people in your life who make it all worth it, and I hope you’ll hold on to whoever or whatever it is that brings you joy and lifts you higher.

New Short Film: 51/50

Watch Demetrio Donzelli's New Short Film on Youtube

I usually stick to sharing my music on this website, but today I have something else I'm very excited to share with everyone! Last night, my brother, Demetrio Donzelli, released his first short film on Youtube. I think it's so important that we use art to explore important issues, and my brother uses the film "51/50" to navigate mental health topics by telling a story about persistence in the face of profound adversity. Please support his film by clicking the link below to watch it on Youtube!

Upcoming Release: "Lift Me Higher"

On August 20th, Hear "Lift Me Higher" Like You've Never Heard it Before

On August 20th, I will be releasing my second single, "Lift Me Higher," on all streaming platforms. As some may already know, this is one of my favorite original songs (I may be biased, of course), and I've performed it multiple times in the past. This time around, I've worked with a talented producer, Travis Heidelman, and my good friend Brian Mynes on bass and guitar to give you a new take on an old favorite. Brian and I started recording some takes for this about a year ago in a practice room at Berklee and I'm so proud of how far it's come. You can pre-save Lift Me Higher on Spotify to ensure it's automatically added to your saved songs on August 20th.
